Meet the face behind the cakes!
Hello, my name is Olivia and I’m the founder and CEO of Delicious Minimalist.
What can I say, I love desserts and to me cake is HAPPINESS!! Cakes are the best surprise one can ever give to friends, family and close ones. Nothing is more special than a delicious cake kept on the table and it instantly lights up the faces of all bringing happiness and joy. Cakes bring people together!
I wasn’t always a pastry chef. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcasting-Communications/Minor in Business Management and worked as a Television Entertainment Reporter in Los Angeles for one of the biggest Spanish TV Network in the US for 13 years until I decided to retire, close that chapter and venture onto new things as my priorities had changed. I am a big believer in happiness over everything, if you don’t like something change it so I did, I said goodbye to a career that I will forever cherish but it was time to start new adventures.
In 2019 my husband and I traveled to Italy where I got certified as a Patry Chef as I’ve always had a passion for food/sweets as well as I also like expanding my knowledge, little did I know I was going to start another career from scratch and we were going to open up a dessert shop a couple years later. I’m so grateful for my husband’s support in this journey, together we make a great team!
Fast forward to 2022, I wanted to express myself and bake something different, make something that represented myself and the beauty of simplicity bringing also great flavor and aesthetics, but what and why not have it all? So many ideas came through my mind and that’s when Delicious Minimalist was born.
I am a very expressive person and I like to see people smile, baking gives me an opportunity to express myself through my work and present to someone I haven’t met hoping that when they see and receive my work, they’ll get a smile on their face!
No hard work, previous knowledge and experience goes unnoticed when you truly work hard with passion and put ALL your heart into it. Now I get to apply my skills and combine my passion for pre and post production, aesthetics, art, beauty, food and business all together in one. Oh, how blessed I feel! With that said, life is short, do what makes you happy and eat the cake!
